2024-2025  10U/12U/14U/16U/18U CUTTHROAT TRAVEL TEAMS

The Wyoming Cutthroats will host tryouts for the 2024-2025 season in August (dates TBD).  We intend to field teams based on demand, skill level available, and availability of coaching and parent involvement.  The cost of tryouts will be $40/player.

For each team we intend to field 15 skaters (9 forward, 6 defense) and 2 goalies. If there are enough players at the appropriate skill level and coaches to field multiple teams at any age division we will do so. Please note on your player's registration form if you would be willing to play on any team they are selected for or not. Each team will play the appropriate level at tournaments, that is to say if it our team is a AA team we'll play AA, if they are an A team we'll play A. That would be the same for additional teams, they would play their level at tournaments as well.

Teams are posted on Sunday following the final session. If your player is selected a required Parent/Player meeting will follow the posting. The cost for the season will be $600, a $250 non-refundable deposit is required following the posting of teams during the Parent/Player meeting to secure your player's roster spot. It is our intention to attend 5 tournaments over the course of the season. The registration fee will include all practices and tournaments. For players who have not played Cutthroats previously a jersey package including a reversible home/away jersey, breezer covers, and socks will be required and the cost of the package is $75. If you are only in need of individual items they can be purchased individually.

We typically select 2 alternates for each team (with the exception being if there are 2 teams, we will reserve the option to "move up" players from the secondary team and have alternates for the secondary team). Building team chemistry and player familiarity definitely helps team and individual player success, so having our fully selected team at each practice and tournament is something we value. If you are not able to fully commit to all the practices and tournament, please reach out to me so we can discuss the options for your player and make sure that having him or her tryout is best for the team and for the player.

We are always looking for qualified coaches for all divisions. We prefer to have parent coaches to help keep costs down, we don't typically pay our coaches, requesting it be a volunteer position. We do, though, require the coaches be impartial in playing time and overall coaching philosophy. There is a coaching application which can be submitted for consideration. We intend to have coaching roles filled prior to tryouts, we will announce our coaches for each team at tryouts, once we get a feel for how many teams we will have at each age division. Team managers will also be needed, managers will be selected from the parent group following team selections.

If your player is interested in trying out for one of our teams for the 2024-2025 season, please complete the registration form (this form is for previous season and will be updated soon, if you fill out this form please note that it's for this coming season) and return it via email, text, mail, or in person. We do request registrations are submitted prior to tryouts so that we can best prepare the try-out session plans for coaching and evaluation.

If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions or anything else, please feel free to reach out. Please feel free to forward this on to anyone you know who may have a player interested in playing travel hockey this coming season. Also, please know that we are not trying to recruit anyone who has already committed to a travel team for this season. Obviously, it would be unethical to recruit a player that is known to have already committed to a travel team for the season.

We look forward to seeing you in Casper!
